An absurdist, mostly apolitical blog dedicated to the misadventures of lonesome me (Donald McFarlane) and my faithful still-handicapped dog Charley. This blog will feature metaphysics information, veterinary advice, and philosophical meanderings concerning conflicting belief systems, lunacy, loneliness and isolation.
Location: a small, isolated bay, South Indian Ocean
If you went looking for me, you might find me on the large island of the Kerguelen Archipelago in the southern Indian Ocean. I live with my handicapped dog Charley, who has been a faithful companion for many years. I mainly subsist on Kerguelen Cabbage and the occasional albatross. My drink of preference is Southern Comfort, although I have discovered it is difficult to come by out here. I live alone by choice, but not because I am a misanthrope. I like people. I think it's just that I still don't know how to live with them.
Is this one of your fishing locations? That is seriously beautiful. You've probably mentioned this elsewhere, but what types of fish can you catch?
Looking through your profile, I noticed Dawn of the Dead AND Joe Bob Briggs. Those, for me, are the nourishing sustenance of life, the rich pinnacle of unmatched perfection. Also, booze is good.
Anyway, hope you are doing well today, Donald, take care...
"In late 1998 Greenpeace embarked on an expedition to expose pirate fishing in the Southern Ocean. During that expedition the crew of the M/V Arctic Sunrise found the notorious pirate fishing vessel, Salvora, fishing illegally for Patagonian toothfish just off the coast of the French sub-Antarctic Island of Kerguelen. The vessel immediately fled, and a 16-day and 2700 nautical mile chase to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius ensued. Here's a chronological overview of that expedition."
I find that these fish have a delightful delicate flavor, and Charley loves the heads.
