KERGUELEN SUNSET IN "VAL STUDER"

FreeFileHosting.Net

This is a scenic place in the interior of Kerguelen. I tried swimming here last summer and lasted about five seconds in the water. Charley didn't swim, of course. His wheelchair prevents him from such activities, but he still enjoyed a sunny day outdoors. Of course we saw nobody there, which is one of the best things about this area!

The photo is excessively nice. How are you this week? Are you reading anything? How do you keep your mind occupied? I talk to objects...pen caps, dental floss, those sorts of things. One time I painted a tiny face on my thumb and, for about a week, that was my best friend. I named him Willington Thumbwick Smith. He wore a thimble-ish top hat and spoke in a fake British accent. Take care...

I don't talk to inanimate objects unless they are ones I am worshipping at the time.

Usually I keep myself occupied by counting the hairs on Charley, or by staring at myself in the mirror until things get hazy. If I read, I do have a few favorites. One is Harvard Lampoon's "Bored Of The Rings". Richard Brautigan is another author I like, especially "A Confederate General From Big Sur", "Trout Fishing In America" and "Revenge of the Lawn"! I have a few Vonnegut books I love, like "Breakfast of Champions", "Player Piano", "Cat's Cradle" and "Sirens Of Titan". I also have Camus' "The Stranger" and "The Myth Of Sisyphus". I don't really have any religious books. I think that is healthy.

How old were you when you met Willington? I'd like to have met him. What happened to him?

I like Brautigan too! His abstract descriptive language often resulted in hilarious passages.

I do have religious books, but they have titles like "Why I Am Not A Christian and other essays", "Atheism: the Case Against God" and "The Dark Side of Christian History". Do you think I will go to Hell?

I'm sorry Snave, but you (and I) will definately be going to hell. The real problem there is that you are allowed to take your favorite books with you, but once tossed into the lake of fire, they burn on contact. Thus the hellishness.

You know, I've never read Bored of the Rings, I'll have to find it. I grew up in a evangelical, strict Christian home, and even attended Seminary for two years (where I quickly became an atheist), so I have a few too many religious books around, debris from the past.

Willington hooked up with my other thumb and eloped, they're in Hawaii now, probably making babies, becoming a large family of giddy thumblings.

Allright, take care Donald. (Also: worship doorknobs, they're the ones in charge. )

Ahhh, doorknobs! They are worthy of worship, as they truly open doors.

blessed is the knob
be they turn or handle
blessed is the sliding door
thyne it the portal to a room
yet visited
blessed are the hinges ...
(I could go on but hey)

Amen
